Reiki

Reiki is a form of energy healing that originated in Japan in the early 20th century. The word combines two Japanese words: which means universal or spiritual, and which means life force energy. Reiki incorporates:

1. Universal Life Force Energy: The practitioner acts as a conduit for universal life force energy, allowing it to flow through them and into the recipient.

2. Holistic Approach: Reiki is based on the idea that imbalances or blockages in the flow of energy can contribute to illness or discomfort.

3. Gentle Touch or No Touch: Reiki can be administered through either a light touch or with the hands hovering slightly above the body.

4. Energy Centres (Chakras): Reiki practitioners often focus on energy centres known as chakras.

5. Relaxation and Stress Reduction: The gentle touch or energy flow is believed to help reduce stress and tension, promoting a sense of calm and well-being.

6. Promoting Self-Healing: Reiki is not a substitute for medical treatment, but it is considered a complementary therapy.

7. Intuitive Healing: Reiki practitioners may sense areas of energy imbalance or blockages and focus on those areas to facilitate healing

As with any complementary therapy, it is advisable to consult with healthcare professionals for any serious health concerns.
